The best boy in our school is Jaimin. He belongs to the S.S.C. class. He is a fine boy. He is lean and tall. He is very fair. He has curly black hair. Jaimin attracts everyone by his appearance. He is always simply yet smartly dressed. He is the most handsome pupil in our school.

Handsome is that handsome does. Jaimin is well-up in his studies. The first rank is always his. He is never proud of his knowledge. He is always humble and polite to his school-mates. He is respectful and obedient to his teachers. His manners are lovely. His speech is sweet. His habits are clean and decent. His actions are noble.

He is a vey good at his books. He is not a bookworm. He is an all-rounder. He is a good student, a good player, a good debater, a good actor, a good singer, and a good social servant.

We all want to like him. We are trying to be like him. Thus he is doing a great service to us.

My First Day at School

I shall never forget my first day at school. That was ten years ago. I was only six. My uncle took me to the school. I was to enter the first standard.
We went to a teacher. He gave me a smile. He spoke kindly to me. I felt happy. The teacher took us to the headmaster. The headmaster admitted me. My uncle went home. The teacher took me to his class.

The other boys stood up. They sang the prayer. They sat down. The teacher introduced me to the class. Then he asked me to take seat in front row. I did so. The teacher taught a simple lesson. I liked it very much. Time passed quickly.

Everything was new. The teacher was kind. The boys were friendly. At last school was over. I went home with two other boys. They lived near my house. My mother gave me sweets to eat. My first day at school was full of joy.

We Play a Cricket Match

We have a cricket-match with the New High School last Sunday. We won the toss. Our skipper wanted to bat. He sent out opening pair to play. They made 35 runs in 40 minutes. Then a slow googly bowler dismissed four of our players in three overs. The lunch time score was 64 for 4. Our first innings total was 99.

The rival team began well. They made 61 for no loss. Then their nest batsman was clean-bowled. The next player was out for dunk. The third gave to our bowler the hat-trick. Soon it was 87 for 5. There was a break for tea. Then the game was fast. The score went to 93 for 7.

Now there were only ten minutes to go. We were greatly excited. Then a player fell to a fine catch. The last two wickets fell quickly. The innings closed down at 95. We won the match by 4 runs.
